Whatcha saaaaay
I’m pretty late to this, but correctly I’m obsessing about a song by Jason Derulo, only to find that the part I like is actually by Imogen Heap. And that the tv show, “The OC” used it on their season finale…and that it was spoofed by SNL, a digital short.
So, here the clip from The OC. 1:25 if you’re impatient.
And here is the digital short spoof…veeeery funny.
And here is the Jason Derulo song, “Whatcha Say”
And the original original song, “Hide and Seek”
If I ever get shot, I want this clip to be playing as I slowly fall to the floor. I’ll keep it on my cellphone.
My cover on Coldplay’s Viva la Vida
I thought about this during the week when I had this on repeat over and over…
Would it be cool if I played the piano and the cello together? And listening to it, you can pretty easily pick out the notes. Then I set off to youtube to see if there were any parts…but I decided that I could probably do it myself. I arranged the piano part first, and the cello part is almost the same stuff over and over again, with some differences in some parts. The piano part is actually a lot of the violin parts. Sorry violins! (not).
So this is what I had to do:
1. Record parts of piano using digital camera. (Part because it’s hard to do the whole thing without mistakes)
2. Record parts in cello digital camera. (Parts because the notes will be more uniform looped)
3. Take the audio off the movie clips and paste the piano parts all together. Paste the cello parts together.
4. Make sure the beats all align.
5. Sing the song with the arranged version and record.
6. Rip the audio off the video and paste it in. Makes sure all beats align.
7. Record video of me playing the piano while listening to the arranged version so the movements are the same. Same with cello. Same with voice.
8. Take all the clips, align the sounds with my arranged version, delete the audio.
So in total, this project allowed me to learn more about Adobe Audition, Adobe Soundbooth, and Sony Vegas.
Originally I had a lot more ideas for the video. I was going to have my stuffed Stitch beat out the drum…and other randomness…but near the end of this, I was already sick of working on it that I was ready to just spit it out.
Happy Fouth of July
This is the first 4th of July that I’ve spent with friends! It was very chill and I got to eat some good old American grill foods. Henry insisted we try crumpling up potato chips and putting them in our hot dog. It is really “delicious”, as he would say. I suggest you all give it a try too.
We play Rock Band for most of the day. I spent more time singing because that’s the job least people want to do. It’s relatively easy following the cursor for me, since, lets face it, I don’t know most of the song well.
My best dorky friends ever.
We call this song, The Emo Song, and my friend Philip sings it pretty well! His voice is a lot like the original at times. We are fortunate this time to have two token white guys hand out with us! <: P.
Here are the fireworks. The regional lake near our house had fireworks every year. It’s enlightening to see it from another angle because it looks very far away, but my friend’s house still has a good view. The fireworks were stopped in the middle because a house was on fire. From where I was, you could see the orange glow coming from the nearby hill and smoke rising out. An hour later, the fireworks resumed. The house turned out to be 2 streets down from where another one of my friends lived.
To give some perspective, the hill to the right has houses on top.
While we waited for the fireworks to come back on, though we never knew it would ever, we sat on the driveway talking about the past, since I had known most of these guys since middle school. Here is an interesting story about Phil. It’s about the time when Blake beat up Philip after jumping to conclusions. Blake is the tallest guy I’ve ever known and Philip is the nicest guy ever too.
Keanu Reeves for a good cause
I was at the theatres this weekend, and before the starting time, they have ads and previews. I saw this and I almost jumped out of my seat. My dad just kind of looked at me and said…”…crazy?”
This wonderful ad chock full of celebrities features Keanu Reeves in it! It was so unexpected for me I made a short gasp and clapped my hands together. True droolz.
