Only if you know Portal

This video doesn’t make much sense if you don’t know the game Portal. It’s probably more enjoyable if you’ve played it too.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=qTw8CQYOboY if you can’t see it.

It’s a little embarrassing and I think I overdid the straight face.

Yoshida Brothers

I’m not sure if I’ve talked about the Yoshida Brothers, but I think I found out about them first from seeing their album at the Japanese bookstore and I thought they were really cool. They are two brothers who play the shamisen traditionally and modern with Western influences. You might have heard them in the Wii commercials. “‘Wii’ would like to play!”. Like that. And then the music starts.

Anyhow, they have a concert coming up! I read it in a Japanese ad magazine! I kind of want to go…but $35 is kind of a lot for me to entertain myself in the music…plus it’s a little far for me. Seeing them live would be reeeally cooool though. <: (.

Here’s Monkey Majik featuring the Yoshida Brothers. One of my favorite songs and pretty awesome music video.

Beach Boys

I love listening to Beach Boys just when it starts to get warm after a chilly winter. I wonder if I will ever be so care-free as they sing?

Kid Koala

I found this guy searching Moon River (From Breakfast at Tiffany’s) on youtube, and he does a mind-blowing scratch of it (i’m not really sure I said that right, and I’m not going to pretend I know what I’m talking about). You know, the turn-table stuff.

Anyway, I forgot how I managed to get this file, but here is his rendition of the theme song to The Last Emperor (my favorite song to wake up to), all hippity-hoppity like.
