The Other Boleyn Girl

Yes, I watched it last week. I loved it! Natalie Portman steals the scene. Her character is far more intriguing and bright than the other stars in this movie.
I came to a conclusion that any movie where Natalie Portman has to cry in, becomes a good movie for her. She is a good crier! Her cries and sobs feel so real that I just want to cry with her.
In Closer, her crying scene is amazing.
I still like her line in the third Star Wars where she manages to squeak out: “Anakin, you’re breaking my heart!”
This may be the first movie I’ve seen her sass in. Sass!
Anyhow, I wouldn’t mind watching this again.
Scarlett Johansson pales in this movie. She’s pretty…..and pretty boring. Sorry!
P.S. In this picture I’ve posted, I’m pretty sure Natalie’s boobs are photoshopped in. -__-”
P.P.S. And after watching Elizabeth: The Golden Age, and rediscovering the first movie, watching this movie was even more appropriate.
Sweeney Todd
I’ve been listening to a lot of Sweeney Todd recently. I think my favorite track (though I pretty much like all of them) would be “My Friends”, the one where he’s fawning over his razor blades and he duets with Mrs. Lovette at 1:42 of the song. There’s passion in the song…I think that’s why I like it.
Johnny Depp’s voice is very normal. It’s a common sound. But….I still like it! It’s a little boyish. Sometimes he sounds like Captain Jack Sparrow singing.
Hey…..Pirates of the Caribbean: The Musical anyone?
Here is “My Friends” from the movie…and don’t forget that creepy Johanna song.

Perfume

I watched this movie today…and in the beginning I was really creeped out by the guy because of his smelling obsession and his stalkerness. Seriously creepy. And in the middle it got better and more interesting…and the ending sucked to me. I think there are other ways the author (it was originally a book right? Though I don’t know how close the movie version is to the book) could have ended it. I love Alan Rickman though. And Dustin Hoffman was great in this as well.
I’ve been interested in perfuming in the last 2 months actually. I was browsing through some perfume website that talk about the lasted perfumes, and people refer to smells as “notes” and would discuss them intellectually (as intellectual as smells can get…). I learned that there are so many names and smells out there and people can actually detect. Too bad my nose isn’t that great <: /
Lawrence of Arabia
I got to see about 2 hours of this during my Arab Society and Culture class. I know it’s a classic, and I saw it when I was little, but I don’t remember a thing about it, so it was nice. Didn’t Peter O’Toole win an Oscar this year? He’s so young in the movie and I like the way he talks. Very calm and poised, but passionate at the same time. I didn’t get to finish it though; I’m pretty sure we have the dvd somewhere around my house.
Now I must study for my religions class….Hinduism!
