Eavesdropping at Hometown Buffet
Filed in The Day Events, October 5, 2008, 6:36 pmHometown buffet is…an interesting place. Whenever I go there, I feel like “whoa..these people…where did they all come from?” You can take that as it is.
Anyhow, I’m a notorious eavesdropper…
Teenaged boy: You know, you’ve got to admit…as much as we make fun of this place, it has some pretty good food.
Teenaged girl: Wait, what?
Teenaged boy: [...]
Failed Cookies
Filed in The Day Events, July 30, 2008, 11:05 amI like to bake. Unfortunately, I had no one to learn from because my mom doesn’t bake. My baking experience comes from watching the food network channel and acts of bravery in the kitchen. My best results are muffins and sugar cookies, but sometimes I want to make something special.
This recipe has failed me twice [...]
Pocky and Calbee
Filed in The Day Events, , 10:46 amI’m not an avid consumer of Pocky, as hard as that might be to believe. I’m not a pocky fan or one of those people that create a shrine for Pocky. I look at it realistically and think…
“well, it’s a biscuit stick dipped in frosting”
I think the last time I had Pocky was mm….5 years [...]
Fish and Cats
Filed in The Day Events, July 13, 2008, 5:49 pmI went to Kitayama lunch one day. This is what happens when you’re bored.
Ebi tails for the eyebrows.
I scooped out the pulp of the lemon and replaced it with wasabi.
Then you spread the wasabi around and peel apart the ginger so it is completely flat (no wrinkles!), and lay it around. A work of art.
Then [...]
California Pizza Kitchen
Filed in The Day Events, July 2, 2008, 9:52 pmMy brother recently posted about CPK and how my mom made rare visits to there with us when we were little. It is still a rare treat and today my mom decided to go! I think it’s been about…4 years since I’ve been there with her.
We used to get 2 soups in one bowl: Potato [...]
Yummy Tuna Bowl
Filed in Droolworthy, The Day Events, uhh...random!, May 13, 2008, 6:07 pmLast week, I tried this bowl out and it was soooooooooooooooo yummy. And only like….$5 something! There was another one topped with crab meat, but…..sometimes that kind of crab meat just tastes salty, you know? So I got the tuna, and it was sooooooooooooooo good. Sooooooooooooooooo good. In the next few days, I was dreaming [...]
Cheese Bit
Filed in The Day Events, uhh...random!, , 6:02 pmThese are…ooooooooookay. They are very light though, and I’m guessing they are more healthy than your average American brand salty chip. These are more like puffs in the shape of tiny chips.
1/3 of the package is 6g of fat, 140mg of sodium (pretty good I think), and 2% Calcium, woohoo!
Tangelo
Filed in The Day Events, uhh...random!, , 5:56 pmI used to eat tangelos a lot. This was when I was a junior in high school and the tangelos that year were super great. I would eat them cold out of the fridge and they would accompany my Math Analysis homework. That year, my math homework was always super neat. I have a method [...]
Indiana Jones M&Ms
Filed in The Day Events, uhh...random!, May 6, 2008, 6:18 pmI was at Walgreens today, and at the check out aisle, I spotted these M&Ms. I’ve always been fond of M&Ms so I had to buy these. It was 2 for $1 too!
They have a new color series:brown, orange, red, and beige. They also have these little prints on them. I’m not quite sure what [...]
Huntington Library
Filed in The Day Events, May 5, 2008, 12:17 amI went to the Huntington Library today! I’ve been there lots of times, but this time seem more fun than before. My favorite part was the atrium because they have a lot of new exhibits to look at there were more hands-on experimenting. You can smell and feel plants, and look through the microscope!
This is [...]
