Star Wars
Am I the only one that was almost floored when I saw these? I saw a guy wearing it at Disneyland and had to ask him where he got it, and his friend with him said that her friend worked at Macys so she told them when the jackets came in and they ordered it through her.
Whew…lots of work for a jacket. But ooh these are sooooo drools. I have a thing for storm troopers…their armor is…….@_@. But…as a jacket, the white and black is kind of boring compared to the Boba Fett one. Who knew those colors would work? Apparently him!

My secret to not buying things you want but don’t need
My secret is…take a picture of it! These shoes were very cute, and mostly ones that I would not really reasonably wear, but as I’ve said before, fashion is like art to me so I just take a picture and move along. It’s almost like having it since I wouldn’t wear them often anyway right? So if I ever want to reminisce about the time I wore hooker shoes, I can find the pictures.
But before that, a quick story. Macy’s (or is it Macy*s?) was having a shoe sale. 40% off retail price with an additional 30% off at the register. So these women…oh..I would say they are in their 30s to 40s were shopping around, and they said “oh yeah, and these are 70 percent off!” Being the eavesdropping fiend I am, I snickered. I suppose it’s a common mistake to add up the percentages, but that’s not how you shop.
40 percent off of $100 is $60. 30 percent off of $60 is $42! $42 is clearly not 70 percent off of $100…that would be $30. $42 is still a little more than $30. Anyway, I hope they weren’t counting too closely or they would be in for a surprise at the register. I’m definitely ingraining this into my students’ heads.
Betsey Johnsons. Her style is so kooky, I love it. I’m usually not a fan of wooden clogs, especially if they are weirdly shapen, but these are cute.

Guess. Walking around in these makes you feel like you could kick everyone’s butts. Or stick a heel in your forehead. I’ve seen that in a movie right?

Jawbone
The new Jawbones are pretty hot. They also have some neato noice cancelling system too. Droolz.
Apparently, if you get a ticket for using your cell-phone with your hands (which is against the law now starting July 1, 2008), then you can get $20 off a new Jawbone purchase. What’s this? Reward for breaking the law? How about the people that haven’t broken the law and want to buy one? Fun promotion but pretty backwards to me. Someone have a ticket they want to share with me?
Paper craft wallet Part I
I’ve been wanting to get a new wallet lately. My wallet is very…cute…and it’s a little more bulky than I like it to be. I always get lots of coins and I need a bigger coin purse in my wallet, unless I want to get a separate little purse just for that…which I don’t really want to.
So after shopping at many stores and department stores, I found nice ones but there were not perfect enough. Either too old style looking, or had something missing that I needed…had one good thing but a bad thing also…
I’m kind of picky because I want a nice wallet, not just some wallet I can use.
So…I decided I’m going to try to make my own. <: x
This is my mock-up. I have tons of ideas. You know what it’s almost like? It’s like adding on plug-ins to something that works great, but could use a little more.
The front. Not too big. I’ll add a clasp later on. I’m thinking envelope style!
You can see some notes here. The window will be a clear plastic. The sides of the credit card part are going to be large elastic cloth, not regular cloth. That way, the material will expand to the number of credit cards it contains. The base is also removable if I don’t need that many cards a certain night and I want to reduce the bulk.
This is something I’ve always wanted to make for myself. I’ve seen this in a few special wallets, and more recently in the Betsey Johnson wallets. So much space! The closure will be the button and string kind, like those kinds folders. You can see the drawing on the previous picture. Maybe fake button and string (with actual velcro or snap closure), depending how fastened it will stay. I’m going to have to experiment with it, but that detailing is going to be super cute. I haven’t seen it on any wallets (and maybe there is a reason for it @_@).
And the cash.

Yeah…I’ll probably keep looking at it…adding a strap here, attachable panel using zipper sounds interesting right? …or…usb thumb drive pocket…
