I played Starcraft 2 twice at BlizzCon. We were only allowed to play multiplayer, no campaigns, only 1v1 and you are restricted to 15 minutes. I played protoss and everything looks amazing, yadda yadda. You go down the row, and sit down with your partner across from you, and there are headphones you can put on to hear the sound. Ah…nostalgia…the sound of crystals be harvested…I told my friend he couldn’t rush me for at least ten minutes because I’m super slow. Plus, I had to read the tooltips to know what was going on because of the new units.

Apparently this was announced earlier, but I didn’t know they took out dragoons! Here I was, looking for the unit that is supposed to be next to zealots…and it’s this….weird looking unrecognizable…thing. From the tooltip I couldn’t really tell what it did. Something with electricity. And I had to upgrade to learn it…or something. I have bad memory. I made a couple of those….

Oh! I remember. You can create a field that freezes ground units. It’s a really small field though…like…enough for only one unit to be frozen. Not so nice against the 20 or so hydralisks my friend set out on me. Ew…zerg. Anyhow, maybe I wasn’t using it correctly. Learning new units can be a pain!

So I go about my business and I hear

You must spawn more overlords!

…um….what?

You must spawn more overlords!

….are you kidding me? I can’t spawn an overlord even if I wanted to. I’m protoss…don’t you mean “you must construct additional pylons”?

So…I made a couple more pylons, even though I didn’t really need them, looking at my unit count (I’m slow)…

…maybe this a bug…a very blatant bug

and then I hear it….or actually, I only start to notice it now.

The sickening sound of something mutating or hatching out of slimy eggs.

What….the….heck…?! ewwwww zerg……I can’t stand that sound

And then…….the definite sound of zerglings destroying something very quickly. You know that sound…it sounds like “hwa hwa hwa hwa hwa” rapidly followed by your supply depot blowing up.

….what..the heck…

I turn to look at my neighbor. He is playing zerg. He is not wearing a headset.

Uh…I think I have your headset…sorry! You need more overlords btw…
