My love for paper: Midori

2

I love paper. I love stationery. There is something so wonderful about paper, especially clean, crisp paper. Blank paper just waiting to be filled. I don’t know why, but I don’t think I’m the only one. I also love pens. All things stationery, really. I could spend hours in a stationery store, looking at all the notebooks, pens, office gadgets…there are so many unique types of paper out there too. I have a manila envelope filled with single sheets of designed paper (mostly from Sanrio)…my life’s collection. Some journals are made for albums, with different types of paper for different purposes. The most unique stationeries I’ve seen are from Taiwan and Japan, mainly before I’ve only been there. They have huge stores devoted to this kind of thing.

My recent obsession is this…Midori’s Traveler notebook. (you should check out the other wonderfully creative midori products they have)

Remember I’m a sucker for packaging. Such detail and care put into protecting the leather notebook. Anyhow, the journal is completely customizable, with different books you can put in it. Some of grids, some are schedules, some are plastic for business cards or pockets to put all sorts of stuff in it.

I love the idea of carrying this around you while you travel and record your experiences in. I’m the type of person who would tape leaves in it and crap. Check out the official website for pictures of how this can be used. I drool.

So, apparently, there is no place you can get this online, for U.S. people like me, or you have to be a retailer.

Except…for one line of stores…because, you know, I researched all this. Apparently there is a store in San Fran called Maido that sells them. You have to call them and order it or something archaic like that. Sigh…maybe the next time I go up there I can invade the store and buy this and all the accessories that come with it. And spend like…100 bucks -__-”.
