Eavesdropping
I’m a notorious eavesdropper. But I’m a selective one. I only eavesdrop on the interesting conversations. This was heard before a lecture. Girl is talking about soccer to Guy.
Guy: Oh yeah! My brother, he plays soccer and (blahblahblah)
Girl: Oh really? Here?
Guy: Yeah!
Girl: Is he older than you?
Guy: No, same year.
Girl: Oh, so you’re twins!! Wow, that’s so cool! I’ve always wanted a twin!
Guy: Yeah………oh…..no I meant like….fraternity…
Girl: ….oh……you mean like..brotherhood…oh…i get it. sorry.
I don’t mean to make a jab at fraternities or sororities, but seriously…talk like a regular person when you’re talking to a regular person! Nobody is going to think “fraternity” if you say “oh yeah, my brother plays soccer”. The whole brother and sister business is so weird to me. You join a club and all of a sudden you’re all brothers and sisters, even across the nation just because you share the same club name? I just had to chuckle when I heard that.
