Weddings
It is so surreal to graduate from attending weddings of older generation relatives or family friends, to seeing friends of my own generation becoming bridesmaids or getting married themselves. What’s going on? Time doesn’t fly. It’s gone before you know it.
Classical
I was studying last weekend (because it’s finals this week) and so I set out to Barnes and Noble because ______ knows that I can’t study at home with so many distractions. I put a blank because I’m not sure who knows. -__-”. Buddha knows? God? Heaven? You fill it in.
Anyhow, I decided to listen to music according to genre, Classical! Because if it was anything else, I might start singing along. Sometimes I get “classical” music mixed up, because it’s classical because it’s intruments playing, but it’s different from the time period the music is in. I realized that most of my music was Russian or American, romantic and contemporary, with Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, and then Copland and Gershwin. And then I had my asian classical music….Butterfly Lovers and Yellow River.
However, instead of studying, sometimes I felt lost in the music. Many of the music pieces I have, I’ve played before. And they are all reeeeeeeeally really good! Aaaah…..I want to play in an orchestra again….maybe I will join La Primavera again next year if the meetings are still being held here.
Here are some of my favorites.
Rhapsody in Blue, Finlandia, Music from Empire of the Sun (John Williams), Serenade for Strings, Russian Easter Overture, Scheherazade, The Firebird Suite, No Doubt String Quartet, Four Seasons.
I need to start beefing up my classical music genre section….mmhm.
Rally rally!
My parents joined a march for one of the presidential candidates. Each candidate is given a number randomly and Frank Hsieh’s is 1!
At first I thought it would be pretty dangerous, and maybe it is, but everyone looks happy to be there. How cool is that.

Because of the palm trees…I think this is outside National Taipei University? NTU…the number one university in Taiwan.

National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall I think?

Outside Taipei’s 101 building…tallest in the world still I think.

Those eyes are the eyes of determination!

I don’t think I ever knew what this stage is called, but I’ve seen lots of stuff go on here, political and entertainment. For all I know, it could be called Taipei Stage or something @_@.
P.S. I just noticed that it seems the poster/stickers say “Yes, We Can!” on them. Obama should steal those for himself after this is over. They are translated in Chinese!
Beach Boys
I love listening to Beach Boys just when it starts to get warm after a chilly winter. I wonder if I will ever be so care-free as they sing?
