Update

Gosh, I haven’t posted in a week. Sorry! Sometimes time just slips through my fingers and no matter how easy it is for me to post now, I never seem to find time to sit down, collect my thoughts, and write.

This quarter I have one of the most time consuming classes I’ve had, and not the fun kind. I don’t like research papers. I have to write a 15 page research paper in APA format. It’s not overly hard, but I think my topic might have made it hard for me to find a lot of info on. It’s about the affects of violent gaming on adolescents, and while you may think there is a lot on the subject, it all seems redundant and narrow and times. It’s either: yes, violent gaming increases aggression, and then, no, that doesn’t mean it’s a cause for violence. I think I’ve gone over everything, way violent games help kids, ways they don’t, why kids play them, what factors of violent games immerses kids more….and I still couldn’t get my 15 pages! It’s a drag.

I passed one of my math single subject tests, algebra, the one that most people on the teaching forums say is the hardest. I actually thought I wouldn’t pass that one, and would pass the geometry one. And when I say algebra, I don’t mean algebra I. I mean Algebra I to II to Pre-Calc. Alas, I’m pretty sure I didn’t pass the geometry one because it was coupled with statistics and history of math. I’m 90% sure that I got all the geometry questions right.

This weekend I was browsing the California education job search site, and casually browsed what math teaching jobs were available. Looks like Santa Ana or Anaheim for me. I wonder if Capistrano Unified ever even needs to put up a job listing. People probably clamor to their office every year anyway. <: / There is a new high school built, and so far there is only one grade going there…I forgot which one. Hopefully it’ll open up new jobs in the next 1-2 years? Meh, housing in Santa Ana and Anaheim are cheaper anyway. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand, a bigger plus, I could get a side job at Disneyland on the weekends! ^_^
