Irked at the SonyStyle Store

I was at the SonyStyle store today, and there were a lot of new stuff! They had two working models of the new Mylo that I played around with for about…mm…20 seconds. Still a little too gimmicky, even for me. It looks awesome, though. And feels yummy.

And…they had the new OLED super super flat screens! The XEL-1. It was playing Pixar’s movie, Cars. To me, playing an animated movie to show off a screen is kind of cheating…but woooow it looked reeeeally good. I happened to watch the part where he was racing, and all the lights were going off from taking pictures of him. It reeeally dazzled. Soooo crisp. Sooooo bright.

Anyhow, the main point of my story, is that as I was oggling this, another middle aged woman had been watching the movie on this screen. Then she motioned to her (I assumed) daughter, to come and see the screen. Her daughter walked over (in her YSL sunglasses perched on top of her head, LV bag, and I didn’t have time to see anything else) and the lady asked her daughter in Chinese.

Mom: Look, what is this?

Daughter: Oh, it’s just a DVD player.

Mom: Oh?

Daughter: 2,499 dollars. Hm.

@_@! Just a DVD player?? Firstly, it was wrong, though I could understand it looked like a portable DVD player because of its stature and size. Some people just don’t get it. Or don’t know to appreciate something like this.

Needless to say, I was annoyed. On top of that, she had a horrible Beijing Chinese accent, and the way she said it was like…”Pft, whatever”. Because that’s how the accent all sounds like. Either “Pft, whatever” or “I’m talking very loudly because it’s better this way!!”.
