My cell phone contract is 2 years, so I get a new phone every 2 years. I actually can’t believe I’ve had my W600 for 2 years, it feels like just yesterday when I got one. I still like it a lot, since it was ahead of it’s time when I got it, so I feel a little sorry for my phone for being replaced…but that’s how technology is. Planned obsolescence sucks hard. Well, technology improves over time too.
So I have this one now…

W580i. It’s the color on the top right corner. There are only a couple improvements I see over my old one.
1. Nifty lights that have different colored themes you can choose. They light up when receiving a call, or notification. Pinks, oranges, greens, red, blues, purples…
2. Lighter than my W600. And thinner.
3. Gadgety fitness applications: step counter, distance counter, shake to shuffle music…
4. Higher resolution screen and bigger.
5. Auto key locking.
6. 5 separate settable alarms.
The only con I have so far is that AT&T restricts mp3s to be set as ringtones with a maximum file size of 600kb. At first, I was angry…but then I thought…well, that’s as long as a ringtone lasts anyway, before the answering machine. The only bother, then, is that I have to clip my music to be ringtones.
And, as always, Sony Ericsson’s are highly customizeable.

The center highlighter is this really cute skeleton holding uchiwas.
