Back to Work

After taking a nice week off from work (working at schools is great like that), I came back to see many boys with their hair freshly cut! It was almost alarming, because I had never thought about guys getting their hair cut, but I guess during the holiday is when they have time to get their hair cut.

There is one class in particular that gets me depressed. There are some kids that just don’t care to be in the AVID class. AVID is an elective class, similar to drama, choir, orchestra…and some kids just don’t want to be there so they don’t do the work even when they are already in class. In that case, I would just let the kid go to do what he wants. He’s not getting anything from being in our class and he generally has a bad attitude about it and it’s starting to affect the other kids. That stuff gets me depressed. Kids that give up easily…and then make a big deal about it.

Awww

My little 6 year old cousin that came down from Thanksgiving is the cutest thing ever. My mom told me that she was talking to my aunt, and my aunt said that she was explaining to my cousin what the word “homesick” meant. So she was like,

Aunt: “Homesick” is when you are away from home and you really miss it.

Raymond: “…..oh….I think I’m Thelnie-sick”

awwwww. Well of course he said my real name.

The Sky

I was washing the dishes and I saw that pink light was coming in through the bay window. So I thought…what the heck? Where is this pink light coming from? I looked up and there I saw it….the prettiest sky I have ever seen. I ran up to get my camera, but there was no juice left in it. Sigh…

I drew a picture of it.

Time flies…weeeee

This has been a really nice holiday weekend.

My aunt and her family came down with my cute little cousin. His birthday is the 24th but we always celebrate it with Thanksgiving. He’s 6 now, and super smart.  One of the highlights of this weekend was taking him to my friend’s house. He was the coolest little kid ever. I don’t think he felt intimidated by the 22 year olds there at all. He laughed with them, laughed at them, stood his ground at the table. He’s such a good kid overall.

I made Crab Stuffed Mushrooms. They only took about and hour….preparing it was the longest. It only takes 5 minutes in the oven to be done. I think it was a little dry…too much bread crumbs.
