Praise!
I just read an email I got this morning (while I was working) from the professor of the class I have tonight (that prohibits me from passing out candy) and she’s canceled class! Not because it’s Halloween today, but a cryptic “Sorry I can’t make it to class”. Also, the take home midterm and the Buddhism quiz I was supposed to take today (that I’ve been freaking out and studying in between work schools) has been pushed back a week.
Praise the higher power!
Ram
no…not the animal!
I finally upgraded from 1gb to 2gb today and I’ve been needing it for sometime. I used to be running at about 50-80% of it doing normal stuff. I haven’t played around with it so much yet, but it’s reading at about 30% right now so I’m happy.
After taking 2 days off from work due to bad air conditions (Thursday and Friday), I’m resuming work tomorrow. It already feels busy busy. It wouldn’t be so bad if I stayed at one school, but driving to 3 different ones is tiresome. It’s like….you need to go to the supermarket, but you just don’t want to get in your car and drive. Psychologically, driving and the act of getting in and out of your car is tiring.
Nothing else much today.
Oh, I can play Moon River on my Ukulele now. My calluses may be starting to grow. Yaaaay
Ukulele!

I’ve wanted one before but I wasn’t serious about it until I saw this being sold really cheap. So I though…why not? The chords are relatively easy to remember and since my music theory is pretty good, I’ve figure out how the chords work and why the chords look like the way they do (in the tab form).
It dawned on me that tabs are just the easy solution to play music, and for people that don’t want to learn it the “real” way. When I play chords on the piano or cello, each note is written out and having memorized all the notes, I can play them all together. Tabs are circles! Circles on lines for you to follow, you don’t learn how or why, you just memorize them with its chord name. Sorry if I’ve offended you.
Anyhow, it is hard right now learning all the chords and stuff…but so far I’ve gotten down G, D, C, A7…and sometimes I forget E, F#, and B. Mainly because the songs I learned used those chords. The best song I can sing is Kumbaya right now…though I tried some Christmas songs that were pretty easy.
Anyhow, I was introduced to this guy, Jake Shimabukuro who plays the Ukulele like crazy…..
Here he is playing “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” by George Harrison. When he plays the part that goes “I don’t know whyyyyyyy, nobody told you…” I want to fall over. I can fall for any guy that plays like this. How long, though, I can’t be for sure.
Today
I chilled out.
I decided I needed a new wallpaper for my desktop, and so I started looking for nice widescreen wallpapers but nothing reeeally popped out…so I put together my own. I gathered lots of Audrey Hepburn pictures I liked and put it into a film reel…and then I put that onto a nice wallpaper I found. Here it is if you want to have it. The resolution is 1680×1050. If you’re smart, you can crop it and resize it however you need because if you don’t have a widescreen monitor, Audrey will be very very skinny!
